Pictavium is an online publication about the history of art, with particular attention to Byzantine art and with articles on classical, European and other artistic traditions. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you visit www.pictavium.com or contact us.

Who is responsible for this website?

The operator of Pictavium is responsible for the personal information processed for the purposes described in this policy. For privacy enquiries or requests concerning your information, contact pictavium.com@gmail.com.

Pictavium is published using Blogger, a service provided by Google. Google also processes information in connection with the operation, security and delivery of its services under its own privacy terms.

Information you provide

You can read Pictavium without creating an account with us. If you email us, we receive your email address and any name, contact details or other information you include in your message. We use that information to read your enquiry, reply to you and deal with any related correspondence.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your enquiry. If commenting or another interactive feature is made available on the website, information you submit through that feature may be visible to others and may also be processed by the service that provides it.

Information generated when you visit

Like other online services, Blogger and the services used to deliver Pictavium may process technical information when a page is requested. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, the date and time of the request, referring information, and data needed to maintain performance and security. Pictavium may consult the statistics available within Blogger to understand how its pages are used. Pictavium does not currently use a Google Analytics measurement ID on the website. Blogger statistics and Google Analytics are separate services.

The location of Google’s processing and the safeguards that apply are described in Google’s privacy documentation. We do not describe the website as hosted exclusively in any particular country, because Pictavium uses Blogger rather than a server whose location we control.

How long information is kept

We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry and any related follow-up, or longer where a legal obligation or a legitimate need requires it. The retention of technical records and information processed within Google services is governed by the relevant service settings and Google’s applicable policies. We do not promise an exact deletion period for information held by a service provider where we cannot independently control that period.

Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, correction or deletion, restriction of processing, or a copy of certain information. You may also have the right to object to particular processing or withdraw consent where consent is the applicable ground.

Children
